SIMON BARNUM - Biography

Simon has been dancing since he was eight years old and by the time he was sixteen was already a veteran of musical theatre, having appeared in three West End musicals including Oliver at the London Palladium.

 

Simon’s “big break” came at the age of nineteen, when he was booked to dance for Atomic Kitten under the choreographic supervision of the renowned Paul Roberts.

 

This led to Simon travelling the world and continuing to work alongside many top choreographers and artists, including: Michael Buble; Tom Jones and Cerys Matthews; Take That; Boyzone; Pussycat Dolls; Boyzone; Sugababes; Emma Bunton; Mel C and, from 2004 – 2010, leading UK girls group, Girls Aloud.

Since then he has worked as assistant choreographer to Elizabeth Honan and Michele Thorne, on productions such as, X Factor, Cheryl Cole, The Voice of Ireland and Pop Star to Opera Star.

 

Currently Simon is the Creative Director for X Factor Georgia and Georgia’s Got Talent.

 

He has been resident choreographer as Disney UK and Europe and, for the past five years the lead choreographer at Global Village – Dubai’s largest Theme Park.

 

In 2018 Simon will be choreographing his first pantomime for Evolution Productions at the Lichfield Garrick Theatre.
